Welcome to my little corner of the world! My name is Hadley and I am a wife, mother, short order chef, shuttle bus driver, locator of lost Stride Rites, master block builder, expert temper tantrum averter, and proficient at a vast host of other talents that are really only needed if you have kidlets.

I live in the heart of the Park District in Columbus, Georgia with my attorney husband, who has a penchant for always being right--even when he is not, and our wacky, two year old son, whose current claim to fame is dunking everything not nailed down into the dog's water bowl.

This blog is where you'll find it all. It's a place for me to showcase my favorite images from recent client sessions, update specials, promotions, and other details of my business, and ramble on about the latest details of my zany life and anything else that tickles my fancy. So kick up your heels, poke around, check it out, and if you find something interesting, let me know by leaving me some "love" in the comments section!

Ashley and Will: Engaged | Columbus Georgia Engagement Photographer

I absolutely love my job as a child and family photographer, but I also like to break out of my zone every now and then, so when Ashley contacted me a few months ago about shooting engagement photos for her and her fiance, Will, I jumped at the chance. Ashley was very specific in that she did not want stiff, posed photos but would rather go for a more photojournalistic and artistic approach, so off to downtown Columbus we went. We scooted around in alleys, trekked onto train tracks, and just plain had a good time. There are some couples that you meet that are “sticking” couples. People that you know will be together forever because their love is so real and plainly evident. This couple is one of those. In 50 years, you will see their anniversary announcement in the paper.

Best of luck to two wonderful people, and while I loved meeting Will, kinda hope I never see him again as he is a police officer–just saying.;) Enjoy the photo overload below. It was so incredibly hard to narrow my favorites!

A very special thanks to Meghan for assisting!

The Sweet Three | Columbus Georgia Children’s Photographer

This shoot was a lot of fun for me and included something I have never seen before–a shy toddler !! Abby brought her sweet children to see me for some updated photos and we had a great time, which wasn’t hard as these children were absolutely adorable. Check out all that hair on wee man’s head! The last photo is my absolute favorite. It was an outtake–literally the last photo that I shot when all of the kids had reached their max, but I think it is so incredibly cute, and real. A shining example of true family life–not everything is perfect.

Abby thank you so much for coming to see me and bringing your sweet family!  I hope to see you again soon.

Oh my gosh, these piccies are adorable. Just love the purple and those huge eyes! Another wonderful session, Hadley. You must share how you get that incredible little ones skin.

Sleeping Beauty | Columbus Georgia Newborn Photographer

I had the honor of photographing baby Helena 2 weeks ago and she couldn’t have been more perfect if she tried. She was an absolute dream–happy both when asleep and wide awake. I love every single newborn that walks through the doors of my studio, but Helena was extra fun because her calm manner allowed me to try out some different poses and props. I simply cannot thank Merritt and West enough for bringing their precious girl to see me as she was such a joy to work with. Have fun viewing some of my favorite session images below!

Scheduling note for expectant mothers:  please know that while every newborn is different, sessions run their smoothest if taken within the first 10 days of your baby’s life.

How in the world did you get that last shot?? Those are great! PS – Merritt’s highlights look fabulous. Can you ask who does her hair? :-)

The Return of Beautiful Baby B | Columbus Georgia Children’s Photographer

My favorite baby B returned for some updated photos. I am sure you will remember her newborn session which can be found here. Barrett was just as well behaved for this session as she was for her newborn one. I just simply cannot believe that almost 4 months has literally flown by since I have seen her. I was just thinking the other day that in almost 2 months, I will be working on my first complete year panel. I just am in such awe at how fast time flies but am so proud of each of my Hadley Scott Photography babies!

Barrett smiled and laughed and talked to her mama and I for a good long time. Even grandma and grandpa came to join in the fun. As always, though, the fun time played out and the last photo on this post is a funny tribute to Barrett proclaiming that the show was over and she was finished!

Kathryn thanks so much for allowing me to photograph Barrett again! I had such a great time and look forward to your next session!

No more photos!!

Back with a Cuteness Vengeance | Columbus Georgia Children’s Photographer

My godson is back to grace the blog with his utter cuteness and to put you in a happy mood if you weren’t already in one prior to seeing this because let’s face it, you can’t help but look at this baby and smile. Seriously, someone needs to tell William that it is borderline ridiculous to be this precious. And, it just gets better as his hand dandy utterly Martha Stewart-esque mother has started sewing his clothes, so not only is he absolutely beautiful but he has cute, customized clothing to match. Just so you know, there is nothing that Mama Megs cannot make, create, or do and her creative juices make me quite envious! Megs even made Robbie his spring/Easter outfit of which I am determined to take his 2 year portraits in as soon as the weather in Columbus quits acting so crazy. Poor William had a slight rash due to his teething and you could tell those mean teethies were bothering him, but he made Meghan and I proud by putting on a great show for us. The only time it got tough was at the end and I included that particular photo in this peek as I think it is so cute. Does that make me a meanie?

As always many thanks to Meghan for bringing her babe by to see me for photos. I cannot wait to take more soon as William is now sitting unsupported. FUN!

L.O.V.E

Sad, sad baby. Cutting teeth is no fun!

Marie - February 24, 2010 - 11:13 pm

Love, love, love those puckered lips and hands in mouth. So sweet and lovely, Hadley!

Meghan - March 1, 2010 - 4:56 pm

Really shouldn’t have looked at these while pepito is off with the grandparents – all of a sudden I want him home NOW! Absolute perfection Hadley!!
